Hello beautiful people,
I recently returned home from a short trip away with Andrew and was shocked to discover how long in between trips it had actually been. This reminded me of how important it is to literally schedule quality time into the calendar (to be sure it really happens!) just for each other.
Spending some time away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, its challenges, routines and responsibilities and yes the children (if you have any) is so important for recharging, reconnecting and growing your relationship. If you’re anything like me its easy to get caught up in the busyness of everyday life that this time out, away from it all, can easily be missed. Just for the record quality time at home is not the same as quality time away from home! Hmm I think that is a note to self!
This time away allows you to explore a new location or an old favorite perhaps (I am talking geographically here!), with some good hearty play (not just boardgames either!) and loads of spontaneity. A place where you can laugh lots, talk lots, eat delicious food, watch some movies (wink, wink – those ones too if the mood so desires!) whilst enjoying your beautiful surroundings and the relaxation that comes from that.
Just go somewhere where you can feel totally supported as there are no other distractions to get in your way. You could even use this time to review where you’re currently at within your relationship and whether it requires any tweaking or not.
Oh and lets not forget about the shagging, that’s definitely on the cards – shag lots too! Great sex has so many wonderful benefits for the mind, body and spirit that personally I don’t understand why we don’t do more of it!
And when you return home again your family will love you for it (that’s if you have one and I’m not just referring to the two legged kind!). There’s nothing like a refreshed and recharged mum and dad to re-energize any family unit to continue the journey at hand when they have a skip in their step and a twinkle in their eye!
So beautiful people, when was the last time you got away for some quality time together?
Love & hugs,
