Hello beautiful people,
Well it’s that time of year again when all aspects of health, sexuality and adult lifestyle (as stated by the blurb on Google) are put on show at Melbourne’s annual Sexpo event.
This year’s Sexpo begins on Thursday 25th November at 12pm and concludes on Sunday 28th November at 9pm and is being held at Jeff’s shed. Not that it stays open for that whole time, though imagine if it did!
You can check out the details at http://www.sexpo.com.au if you are interested.
I remember a time when even the thought of going to Sexpo would have me shaking in my boots, from fear that is, not excitement! Today I’m so relaxed with the concept that this year I’ve even decided to assist at the stall for Bi-Sexual Alliance Victoria. How times have changed!
Becoming comfortable within my own sexuality has been a wonderful gift I received through the journey I embarked upon with my husband, eighteen years ago, when I first discovered that he was sexually attracted to, and active with men.
Sex is such a natural part of the human experience and interestingly enough one of the most controversial of topics. Why is that? Why is it, as a global community, we don’t talk about sex as easily and openly as we do our sports per say?
I know that within my relationship with Andrew, for a long time there, I was embarrassed and ashamed about who he was and what we were doing. It felt so wrong. I felt so wrong. Why as a consenting adult did I feel that way?
I’m all for an exhibition where adults can explore the many aspects of health, sexuality, and adult lifestyle. I can also say that not everything at Sexpo is my cup of tea. That certainly doesn’t make it wrong, it just makes it different. It all comes down to choices and making informed choices at that.
If you’d like to drop by and say hi, I’ll be at the stall from 12pm to 3pm on opening day, that’s this Thursday. It would be great to know you read my blog too, so please mention that to me when you say hi.
Love & hugs,
