Hello beautiful people,

I’d like to focus some more on the topic of looking after yourself. I know I have said it before and I can promise you that this won’t be the last time I post about it either, as I truly believe that looking after yourself is essential if you want to live a full, happy, healthy and conscious lifestyle. There are absolutely no shorts cuts or ways around it. It’s a given. And it’s not just about getting enough exercise, meditating, eating well etc… it’s about the hidden nasties that can go undetected that can cause real havoc.

For years and years and years I suffered from what I like to call ‘foggy brain’. It felt as if this dark cloud was inside my head, very thick, very heavy and constantly zapping all of my energy. I always felt tired, exhausted in fact. I’m sure I was suffering from chronic fatigue and on top of that living in a very depressive state.

I tried so many ways to free myself from this feeling, only to wear myself out even more from having tried in the first place! It was like banging my head against a brick wall. The more I tried to ‘fix’ myself the more it hurt and the worse I felt. The only things this did give me were feelings of utter frustration and exaggerated my already depressive state. Why wasn’t I ‘getting it’. Was I ever going to ‘get it’? Bang, bang, bang!

Even with the right information and techniques it was slow going. It wasn’t until I began to eliminate the harmful chemicals and toxins that were in almost every product I owned that the real changes began! From the foods I ate, the products I used on my body to the products I cleaned my house with, was it any wonder my brain was foggy, or that I felt so utterly exhausted and depressed. Or that I had terrible skin, both from acne and eczema. I had created a landmine full of toxic waste…I was being constantly drugged!

Eliminating these toxins from my body wasn’t the easiest thing to do. I loved food, especially the sweet ones that came in those pretty packets! Or so I use to tell myself.  And I always bought what I believed were the best products to use on my body and for my family too (if cost was anything to go by!). I just never realised that they were doing me more harm than good!

So that’s where I started, with the products I used on my body. Once I had found, what I believe is the best product brand for me (and cheaper than I was use to paying!), my body healed almost instantly. My skin cleared up, my eczema disappeared and for the first time in my life people where complimenting me on how healthy my skin was looking.

I’ve been using these products now for the past six years or so and my health is continually improving. This was the easiest place for me to start. It was a no brainer really. And because my body loved the results, it was easy to do. Over time I was able to change the way I was eating too, slowly and I mean slowly as this was much harder to do than changing the products I used on my body. I had an addiction to break! Food was my friend….wasn’t it? Surely the food I ate wouldn’t hurt me….would it? Little did I know or want to know that food was my drug!

My diet is the cleanest and freshest it has ever been, full of nutritiously rich, wholesome foods. Foods that haven’t been bombarded with chemical after chemical, how they can still be classified as food is beyond me!

Combining clean, healthy products with a clean healthy lifestyle has enabled me to heal the past. I am no longer stuck, drugged or suffering from foggy brain or chronic fatigue. Sure I can still get tired, although now it’s a happy and contented tired from living an active lifestyle. I’m sure too that over time once my body is functioning at its optimal level I will have even more energy than I do now. Woo hoo!

I’m sure too my journey with Andrew would have been so much easier had I not been overloaded with chemicals. Oh well…it is what it is. I now know a different truth and it will serve me well.

As I am not a nutritionist or an expert in any way on this topic, I can only share with you from my own experience. Please do your own research. You owe it to yourself and your family to be running at your best because you’re worth it, every ounce of you is worthy.

Some useful resources I have used in assisting me in knowing what was what and what it was in…were:

The Chemical Maze

by Bill Statham. http://www.chemicalmaze.com

His book is now available as an app!

The Additive Alert

by Julie Eady. http://www.additivealert.com.au

Here’s an extract from Julie’s website:

It`s a sad fact, but food is not just food anymore. Over the past 50 years the use of food additives has skyrocketed to the point where very few of us have any real idea exactly what`s in the food we eat. Alarmingly, the rates of diseases such as cancer, obesity, diabetes, autism, depression, asthma and ADHD have also increased dramatically over this time. Every year, Australians consume over 5kg of food additives each, yet how many of us really know what these chemicals do, which ones are safe and which ones are known to be harmful?

Changing Habits Changing Lives

For my body, health and home I use the Miessence range of certified organic products. I love these products so much that Andrew and I are Independent Representatives for the company and have been for years.  This link is to our shop ‘Your Body and Soul’, therefore if you choose to purchase something from our site you’ll stay connected to us! http://www.youchoose.miessence.com

These are all examples only.  Again please do your own research and make your own decisions. I now know that I am more able to handle the challenges that will pop up in my life from time to time as my whole being is clean and clear of all unnecessary distress on my system. Plus I get to enjoy the good times knowing that I am truly conscious, experiencing them as me, myself and I!

The choice is yours.

Love & hugs,

Lyndal
